Hung Jin Gui “Golden Cinnamon” is a light Oolong harvested in the spring of 2020 in south Fujian. It is less famous than Tie Guan Yin which is also made in South Fujian, but it is just as good. If you are a light Oolong fan - Huang Jin Gui is definitely worth trying. The dry leaf has a fresh, vegetal, sunflower aroma. The taste is strong, vegetal, fresh, buttery with a distinct mouthfeel that includes tartness. If brewed more intensely a sourness will appears in the flavour profile, as though a slice of fresh lemon has been added to the brew.
A thick tea that is invigorating and soothing at the same time. A perfect option for a daytime or late morning tea session.
