Huang Jin Gui Lan Hua Xiang or Golden cinnamon is a South Fujian Oolong that is starting to gain popularity.
It has a creamy-grassy dry leaf aroma with a slight hint of pear. The heated leaf opens up to reveal fresh pea and floral notes. The taste is clean with sorrel, flowers and a sweetness that is finished off with a pear-and-apple aftertaste. With every steep the brew seems to taste a lot like tea with lemon due to the lemony aftertaste.
Not an energy-booster but a great option for a slow tea session to relax and wind down. The perfect tea to get cozy and comfy.
