Gaba is a unique tea mainly produced in Taiwan. It undergoes a fermentation process in an airless chamber into which nitrogen is added. This allows the tea leaves to preserve a high level of GABA, gamma amino butyric acid, an important inhibitory neurotransmitter of the central nervous system. Due to this Gaba tea is considered to have a calming effect and increase mental activity.
Blue Gaba tea is made from plants situated on the Ali Shan mountain. It has a distinct fruit flavour with a subtle sourness which is characteristic of these types of teas, it has a long-lasting berry aftertaste.
This tea Is perfect for a morning or afternoon tea session. Has a soothing effect, helps to organize thoughts and sets a good mood.
Blue Gaba can be brewed in porcelain, clay or ceramic teaware. Suggested brewing temperature is 85-90 °С (185-194°F). The tea can be steeped in a thermos or prepared using the Pin Cha method; it can handle up to 8 steeps. Tea-to-water ratio is 5 g. (0.18 oz) per 100 ml. (3.5 oz) of water.
