Jin Xuan is an Oolong GABA from Taiwan. Gaba is a unique tea mainly produced in Taiwan. It undergoes a fermentation process in an airless chamber into which nitrogen is added. This allows the tea leaves to preserve a high level of GABA, gamma amino butyric acid, an important inhibitory neurotransmitter of the central nervous system. Due to this Gaba tea is considered to have a calming effect and increase mental activity.
The dry leaf has a baked caramel and raisin aroma. It has a voluminous creamy flavour of raisins, grapes and caramel with a long lasting aftertaste. A good old classic GABA that relaxes and inspires.
Jin Xuan can be brewed in porcelain, clay or ceramic teaware. Suggested brewing temperature is 85-90 °С (185-194°F). The tea can be steeped in a thermos or prepared using the Pin Cha method; it can handle up to 8 steeps. Tea-to-water ratio is 5 g. (0.18 oz) per 100 ml. (3.5 oz) of water.
