Nan Ben Lao Zhai is part of Dongsongduo village and is located at an altitude of 1700-1800 meters, average annual temperature is 17C°. The tea is made out of raw material harvested from large trees that are approximately 100 years old.
The heated leaf aroma includes notes of fresh apple sauce with honey in a flower garden. The steeped leaf has a smoky, tobacco aroma with a bit of floral in the background.
The taste is sweet and gentle, slightly smoky and astringent. It includes notes of blackberries, apples with a herbal aftertaste and a sweetness that keeps appearing and disappearing.
Has a strong, meditative Cha Qi.
A great Sheng with some aging potential. Great as is and definitely worth trying.
